Oh, definitely! But you can't have *always* been happy, or you'd have nothing to write fiction about. That is my thesis. People who've always been happy... perhaps they write useful sailing manuals and lovely cookbooks :-).

On behalf of the "Glory to Failure", thank you so much for providing your perpectives at the event, and now in 'print'. My particular favorite of your quotes was "A poem is never finished, only abandoned." I love the notion that while we can seek perfection, we must recognise that creation is a constant process.
